- Difficulties of turkish science gifted teachers: Institutions of science and art centers Mehmet Küçük Murat Gökdere Salih Cepni Educación Science and Art Centers Turkish Educational Context Science Teachers of Gifted student The purpose of this study is to determine the fundamentalproblems of science gifted teachers (SG/Ts) whoteach Turkish gifted children (G/C) and compare it withthe international milieu. Turkish G/C are taught in differenteducational contexts named Science and ArtCenters (SACs) in which better opportunities are presentedfor them. In this project, field observations weredone at three of the SACs in Turkey - in Bayburt, Sinopand Trabzon - and, semi-structured interviews were conductedwith each of ten SG/Ts who work in these centersby one of the researchers. Data analysis showed thatSG/Ts do not perceive their duties holistically and feelthe need help with measurement and assessment techniques,modern learning theories, plan and implementationof a research project, questioning techniques andusing laboratory-based methods for G/C.
