Nagarajan Ciencias de la Tierra Velanganni foraminifera trench sample Keywords: ostracoda southeast coast of India Abstract The present study focuses on sediment grain size, microfossil content and heavy minerals present in the sediments collected from a trench in the southeast coast of India in order to identify the frequent extreme wave events ( e.g . storm surge, cyclone, tsunami, etc .). Two different depositional events were identified at different depths with distinct sedimentological, mineralogical and microfossil characteristics.
