The study is investigated from the perspective of Small- and Medium-sizedEnterprises (SMEs) and the framework of implementation is represented by the extent of deployment. Based onthe sample of about 115 small businesses in Australia, this paper uses regression modelling to explore andestablish the factors that are related to the extent of deployment in EC. A multiple regression analysis showsthat seven factors: perceived relative advantage, trialability, observability, variety of information sources, communication amount, competitive pressure, and non-trading institutional influences, significantly influence theextent of EC deployment by SMEs in Australia. The results and interpretations have some implications formanagers in determining the appropriateness of deploying EC strategies to achieve profitability and operationalefficiency. 2006 artículo científico 0718-1876 https://www.redalyc.org/articulo.oa?id=96510205 en http://www.redalyc.org/revista.oa?id=965 Journal of Theoretical and Applied Electronic Commerce Research application/pdf Universidad de Talca Journal of Theoretical and Applied Electronic Commerce Research (Chile) Num.2 Vol.1
