| contents | Cascade Copper‐Catalyzed C–P Coupling/Knoevenagel Cyclization/Photocyclization for Diversity‐Oriented Synthesis of Luminescent Phosphole Derivatives Lei Ge Xiao Jin Jinxiu Wang Zhichao Zhang Fangdong Hu Pengfei Shi Wenqiang Yang Advanced Synthesis & Catalysis Benzo‐ and dibenzophosphole oxides have attracted increasing attention in organic electronics. However, their functionalization with site‐specific substituents and the construction of diverse fused phospholes remain formidable challenges. Herein, we present a cascade of copper‐catalyzed C–P coupling/Knoevenagel cyclization/photocyclization for the precise and programable construction of site‐specifically substituted benzo[ b ]phosphole, heteroarene‐fused phosphole, and polycyclic phosphole oxides. This reliable and efficient method boasts excellent substrate scope, straightforward operation, and readily available starting materials, enabling the concise synthesis of diverse (hetero)aryl‐fused phosphole derivatives, as well as the precise functionalization of both the benzo moiety and the 2,3‐positions. Furthermore, systematic investigation into their photophysical properties has elucidated the substituent‐governed modulation of optical performance. 10.1002/adsc.70513 http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/termsAndConditions#vor |
