Silverman Diagnostic Cytopathology ABSTRACT Neutrophil cannibalism or engulfment by tumor cells is a feature often associated with aggressive malignancies. Although metastatic squamous cell carcinoma is commonly diagnosed by fine needle aspiration cytology, there are only rare reports of neutrophil cannibalism by squamous cell carcinoma in current cytology literature.
