contents Structured Light Beams With Fractional Topological Charge João Quaglio George B. Reis Marcos R. R. Gesualdi Michel Zamboni‐Rached Microwave and Optical Technology Letters ABSTRACT In this paper, we develop a simple method to obtain solutions of the Helmholtz equation that holds fractional topological charge. Such wavefields are obtained in a closed and analytical form through the superposition of beams with integer topological charge. The method is then applied to obtain fractional topological charge versions of structured light beams known as Frozen Waves, which are structured wavefields whose longitudinal intensity pattern can be tailored to a predefined shape. Also, the experimental generation of such beams was performed, confirming the theoretical results. 10.1002/mop.70466 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/
