contents Sandpiper Optimized PI ‐Controlled Triple‐Core Integrated Boost Converter for Solar‐Powered BLDC Motor Driven Electric Vehicle S. Senthil Kumar K. V. Kandaswamy J. Senthil Kumar S. Balavignesh Optimal Control Applications and Methods ABSTRACT This paper presents a novel photovoltaic (PV) integrated electric vehicle (EV) charging system designed to enhance energy efficiency and promote green transportation. The proposed architecture incorporates a triple core integrated boost (TCIB) converter and a bidirectional DC‐DC converter to enable reliable energy flow between the PV array, battery storage, and EV motor. The converter delivers an enhanced voltage gain that scales effectively with the turn ratio and duty cycle, enabling the low‐voltage PV input to meet the higher DC‐link requirements of motor drives and battery charging. A Sandpiper optimization algorithm (SOA) tuned PI controller ensures stable DC‐link voltage and optimized energy management under dynamic environmental conditions. By adaptively optimizing the proportional and integral gains, SOA enhances the fitness function, enabling faster convergence to optimal gain values and resulting in superior control accuracy. The system also includes grid integration for uninterrupted charging and a three‐phase inverter for efficient BLDC motor drive. Simulation results using Matlab demonstrate improved converter efficiency of 97.56% and reduced total harmonic distortion (THD) of 1.92%, highlighting the scheme's effectiveness in achieving stable, sustainable, and high‐performance EV charging with minimal reliance on fossil fuels. 10.1002/oca.70021 http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/termsAndConditions#vor
