- Study on the Properties of Short Glass Fiber‐Reinforced Polyetheretherketone Prepared by Fused Deposition Modeling Xu Li Enxiang Song Chong Zhang Cong Ding Ruizhe Fu Yangyang Zhao Yang Qiao Polymer Composites ABSTRACT Fused deposition modeling (FDM) is an efficient and flexible three‐dimensional (3D) printing manufacturing technology. Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) composites, as high‐performance special engineering plastics, exhibit considerable potential for industrial applications. In this study, short glass fiber (GF)‐reinforced PEEK composites with varied fiber contents were fabricated via FDM. Pure PEEK specimens printed via FDM were used as the control group, and their mechanical, thermal, tribological, and electrical properties were systematically evaluated. The results indicated that 10 wt% GF‐reinforced PEEK (10GF/PEEK) had the best mechanical and tribological properties. The incorporation of GF notably enhanced the dimensional stability of PEEK and increased its dielectric constant. The dominant wear mechanism of pure PEEK was fatigue wear, while that of the composite material was abrasive wear and adhesive wear. This study may provide a theoretical foundation for the industrial application of GF‐reinforced PEEK. 10.1002/pc.70592 http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/termsAndConditions#vor
