contents A New Plasma‐Assisted Method for Synthesizing Copper Oxide Nanoparticles for Biomedical Applications Z. A. Zakletskii I. V. Moryakov E. M. Kochenkov M. I. Rubtsova D. A. Serov S. V. Gudkov N. G. Gusein‐zade Plasma Processes and Polymers ABSTRACT In this paper, we present a novel plasma‐based synthesis method for copper oxide nanoparticles (Cu₂O/CuO) employing a microsecond discharge in a liquid medium with copper granules positioned within the interelectrode space. The analysis revealed distinct morphological differences between the two phases: Cu₂O nanoparticles exhibited spherical and cubic shapes with an average size of 100 nm, while CuO nanoparticles displayed a flake‐like morphology with an average size of 450 nm. The synthesis process demonstrated a production rate of 50 mg/min with an energy efficiency of 16 μg/J. The best performance results were achieved at a Cu₂O nanoparticle concentration of 300 mg/mL. At this concentration, the synthesized nanoparticles exhibited antibacterial efficacy and cytotoxicity levels comparable to those produced by well‐established conventional techniques. 10.1002/ppap.70149 http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/termsAndConditions#vor
