  • P‐9.15: Design of High‐temperature Reliability for Airborne Digital Image Sources Xunwang Bao Chunlin Xi Dandan Hu Gang Liu SID Symposium Digest of Technical Papers As the core image source for head‐up display, digital image sources provide critical flight parameters, navigation, and targeting information to aircraft. However, due to the low light utilization efficient of HUD, digital image sources need to have high brightness to meet operational requirements. The issue of high heat generation from high brightness is particularly prominent, especially in high‐temperature environments where heat accumulation can cause the liquefaction of liquid crystal molecules, affecting the display of images and characters and posing a serious threat to flight safety. This pa per delves into the fundamental reasons behind the liquefaction of liquid crystal molecules and proposes an innovative polarizer separation structure to effectively control the temperature on the LCD screen. Experimental results show that at an ambient temperature of 70°C, this design can reduce the temperature by at least 14°C significantly enhancing its reliability under high‐temperature conditions. 10.1002/sdtp.19087 http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/termsAndConditions#vor
