One was challenging due to its philosophical complexity combined with the difficulty of manipulating puppets, leading to a more traditional interpretation. The other enabled bolder choices, such as Japanese-inspired set and gender-fluid casting. The use of puppets, associated with queer readings and drag aesthetics, renewed representations of love while challenging patriarchal structures. The interview also covers performance physicality, sound use, and the ‘puppetisation’ of artisans. In Point Zéro's collaborative, experimental work, puppetry addresses complex issues and broadens theatrical codes.
