contents <p>This study examines the effectiveness of workplace safety interventions through a qualitative embedded case study conducted in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Focusing on three key interventions: floor markings, machine guards, and safety signage, the research investigates how these measures influence not only hazard control but also worker behavior, perception, and decision-making. The case is situated within a bottling hall setting, where multiple operational risks, including pedestrian vehicle interactions, machinery hazards, and chemical handling, are present. A key contribution of the study is the development of new internal standards for exclusion zone floor markings in the absence of existing organizational or national guidelines. These bespoke markings, including innovative pacemaker-specific warning zones, represent a novel approach to integrating inclusive and context specific safety controls directly into the physical workspace.Data were collected through project documentation, visual evidence, structured observations, and implementation records, and analyzed using pattern matching and thematic analysis. The findings indicate that the combined implementation of physical and visual safety interventions produces a synergistic effect, enhancing spatial awareness, reducing risk exposure, and improving engagement with safety practices. Machine guards provided direct hazard control, while floor markings and signage influenced behavioral and situational awareness. Importantly, the study demonstrates that effectiveness is maximized when interventions are integrated and tailored to the operational context rather than applied as isolated compliance and safety measures. The research contributes to occupational safety and offers practical insights for designing adaptive, inclusive, and system-oriented safety management strategies.</p>
