contents <p>The paper investigates the environmental effects of effluents discharged by textile manufacturers in Bangladesh over recent decades. A comparison was made between the results and the acceptable limits for heavy metals, pH, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), and Total Dissolved Solids (TSS). The research demonstrated that the elevated concentrations of TDS, DO, pH, Cu, Zn, and Cr in the wastewater samples were beyond the DoE Bangladesh standard limits, indicating a greater extent of pollution. Multivariate cluster analysis and Pearson correlation were also performed to identify the contaminated areas. The release of industrial effluent in drainage water adversely impacts aquatic life. According to the research, the water is not safe to drink. This is why the textile dyeing industry’s effluent needs to be treated in an eco-friendly effluent treatment plant (ETP) before it can be discharged into bodies of water. This will help to protect the environment and make managing surface water resources more sustainable.</p>
