| contents |
This systematic review and meta-analysis examines the effectiveness of exercise interventions in patients with overweight or obesity suffering from knee osteoarthritis. Based on randomized controlled trials, the study shows that exercise programs significantly reduce pain, improve physical function, and increase walking capacity compared to non-exercise controls. Interventions combining aerobic and strength training, and in some cases diet, were especially beneficial. Overall, the findings support exercise as a safe and effective strategy to improve quality of life and functional ability in this population, with potential additional benefits for fall prevention and long-term health.
|
