  • This bannerstone was found in Harnett County (31HT1086), North Carolina and donated to the NC Office of State Archaeology. Bannerstones likely functioned as a weight that would be attached to an atlatl, or spear thrower. It is made out of a grey steatite and measures 100.0 mm by 58.3 mm by 23.9 mm and weighs 122.4 g.
