The ellipsoid-shaped shield contains the letter J engraved in the centre. The ring is connected with the shield via two hearts decorated with a knurled ornament, and below there are symmetrical cuts – two parallel lines and two intersecting ones. Possession of jewellery, especially if it was jewellery of this type, was the most popular decoration in the Podhale region, and its quantity indicated the owner's wealth. The ring was purchased in 1913 in the village Niedźwiedz by an itinerant trader August Zając from Czarny Dunajec, who sold it to Bronisława Giżycka, and then the Tatra Museum bought it from her for its collections.
