This paper embarks on a comprehensive journey, delving into the applications, benefits, and challenges of AI integration in the Indian judiciary. It examines the existing literature, both global and regional, and highlights successful AI implementations in legal systems around the world. Additionally, the paper addresses critical legal and ethical considerations that accompany the adoption of AI in the judiciary, such as bias mitigation, transparency, and accountability. It also discusses current AI initiatives and implementations in various Indian jurisdictions, evaluating their effectiveness and identifying lessons learned. Through this exploration, this research paper aims to shed light on the transformative capabilities of AI in the Indian judiciary. It will offer recommendations for policymakers, judiciary officials, and legal professionals on how to responsibly harness AI's potential.
