| contents | <p>In response to urgent global environmental challenges, the European Union has launched the 2023-2027 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). This new framework significantly raises environmental ambitions and grants Member States enhanced flexibility to adapt measures to local contexts. The Into-DIALOGUE project, supported by the European Joint Programme on SOIL, critically examines how CAP eco-schemes influence farming practices across the EU and Turkey. Focusing on the schemes' potential to promote climate-friendly and biodiversity-enhancing farming, this project seeks to provide evidence-based insights to shape future agricultural policies.<br>This report consists of two complementary parts: The first part is an economic analysis of selected countries. We examine farm economic results across several EU member states, including the Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland. This analysis considers factors such as farm size, specialization, and access to subsidies, providing insights into the economic viability of sustainable farming practices under the new CAP framework.<br>The second part of the report consists of analyzed data from surveys on drivers and barriers to sustainable farming. Through extensive surveys conducted in selected countries and Turkey, we gather farmers' perspectives on sustainable practices. This part identifies key drivers and obstacles to the adoption of agroecological land management practices, offering crucial insights for policy development.<br>By combining economic analysis with farmers' on-the-ground experiences, this report aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities in implementing the new CAP measures, balancing environmental goals with the economic and practical realities of farming across diverse European contexts.</p> |
