This species is easily recognized by having the harpe narrow with dorsal margin slightly incurved, the digitus short, the basivolsellar protuberance narrow and well demarcated, aedeagal dorsal valve narrow and basal cover plate almost entirely the same width.</p><p><b>Description</b>. Head. Mandible with two distal teeth. Median clypeal lobe subtrapezoidal, with one angulate large tooth; median clypeal carina low in profile, complete or nearly so, straight in profile or nearly so. Frons weakly coriaceous, punctures small and dense. Vertex crest weakly incurved. Dorsal pronotal area with anterior margin coarse. Tergal process submedian, with tuft of setae without depression. Posterior hypopygeal margin straight or nearly so. Genitalia. Harpe entirely narrow, apical margin truncate, abaxial margin not projected; gonostipes shorter than harpe, ventral margin excavated almost until outer margin of basivolsella; digitus short, basidorsal corner strongly projected; basivolsella with narrow, well-defined protuberance, without spines; aedeagal ventral valve with apex aligned with apex of dorsal one, wide, progressively narrowing apicad; inner margin slightly sinuous; outer margin slightly sinuous, curved laterad; aedeagal dorsal valve narrow, with two pairs of apical lobe; outer lobe long, narrow, apical margin rounded and posterad; apex of inner median filament anterior to apex of lobe, directed posterad; basal cover plate entirely wide, posterior margin slightly incurved medially; apodeme extending beyond genital ring.</p><p><b>Material examined</b>. Holotype, 1♂: PANAMA, <i>Pr. Darién</i>, PN Darién, Pirre, Est Rancho Frio, 80 m, 16 nov 00– 17 ene 2001, Malaise, R. Cambra, A. Santos (MIUP). Paratypes: 2♂, same data as holotype (MIUP).</p><p><b>Distribution</b>. Panama.</p><p><b>Etymology</b>. This species is named after Eulália Maria Lahmeyer Lobo, the first woman to get a doctorate in History in Brazil.</p><p><b>Remarks</b>. It is similar to <i>D. limae</i> <b>sp. nov.</b> by having the aedeagal dorsal valve entirely narrow and straight, aedeagal dorsal lobes long and the aedeagal ventral valve slender. However <i>D. limae</i> <b>sp. nov.</b> has the harpe entirely wide, the apex of inner median filament ventrad, the digitus very wide and the basivolsellar protuberance slightly pointed, whereas <i>D. eulaliae</i> <b>sp. nov.</b> has the harpe slightly wide basally, the apex of inner median filament directed posterad, the digitus narrow and the basivolsellar protuberance not pointed.</p> |
