  • <p>The paper explores the configuration and key features of educational institutions and<br>system of their financial management during the medieval Islamic period. The purpose of this<br>study was to explore the organizational and managerial structure of the institutions in order to<br>get an insight for the improvement of current system. The overall strategy of the study is a<br>qualitative research based on an extensive document analysis. Data has been collected through<br>self-administration from available resources in the libraries. The collected historical data has<br>been analyzed to explore the key features of infrastructure and educational management. The<br>study classifies a number of educational settings during the Umayyad’s rule that eventually<br>converted into proper institutions of formal, informal and professional education during the<br>Abbasid’s period. The study also takes an account of the curriculum and financial management<br>of these institutions and recommends some key factors for the improvement of education system<br>in Pakistan</p>
