| contents | <p>Gender equality studies stated in the 60s (Ordem & Ulum, 2020). Gender equality education involves several actions such as the pro- motion of gender equality in schools. Its widespread use in education intends to foster equal treatment between girls and boys that acts as a cross-curricular topic in the curriculum of Primary Education. Gender equality has been defined as “both the equal treatment of women and men before the law and women's and men's equal usage of resources, opportunities, and services within the family and soci- ety” (Kalayci & Hayirsever, pp. 1065, 2014). Psaki, McCarthy, Mensch, & Population Council (2017) stated some progress regard- ing gender equality in girls’ education in last years however such as parity in school enrolment; and same accomplished grades. Notwith- standing, gender equality in learning is not yet characterized by par- ity. The treatment of contents about important women in the history or equal treatment preventing gender bias are teaching strategies whose goal is to foster non-discrimination measures and promote girls’ autonomy.</p> |
