contents
This article focuses on an empirical study regarding the attitude of the school population towards the Andalusian linguistic modality in different communicative situations. To this end, we developed three instruments to measure attitudes toward various morphological uses of this linguistic modality according to the possibilities of diaphasic variation: formal, standard, and informal. We used a sample of 460 respondents distributed across 11 secondary education centers. These variables were compared with other dependent variables, such as morphological knowledge of the Andalusian linguistic modality and attitudes towards it. Additionally, we contrasted the results with different sociodemographic variables. These results showed that the majority of respondents associate the uses presumed to be characteristic of the Andalusian linguistic modality with informal communicative situations and exclude these uses in formal contexts, particularly those with lower levels of linguistic knowledge.
