contents
This qualitative study explores the complex dynamics of religion and English language teaching in a multicultural classroom setting. Through in-depth interviews and classroom observations, this research examines how language teachers navigate the intersection of curriculum, culture, and creed in their instructional practices. Findings reveal that teachers' personal beliefs and values influence their approach to integrating religious content in the language curriculum, often leading to tensions between cultural sensitivity and pedagogical goals. The study highlights the need for critical reflection and intentional planning to ensure inclusive and effective language teaching that respects diverse religious backgrounds. By shedding light on the intricate relationships between language, culture, conflict and religion, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of the role of English language teaching in promoting cross-cultural understanding and spiritual awareness.
