contents <p>The purposes of this study were 1) to develop an instructional model based on active learning concept to enhance ability of social studies learning management design for student teachers and 2) to study the effectiveness of an instructional model by the target group, 29 undergraduate students of social studies, faculty of Education at Thaksin University who have enrolled in a specific teaching course for Semester 1, Academic Year 2020, as 1 classroom. Research instruments included 1) learning management plan based on active learning concept 2) knowledge and understanding test of specific teaching 3) ability assessment of social studies learning management design and 4) student satisfaction assessment towards instructional model. Data were analyzed by using mean score, standard deviation and independent t-test. The findings were as follows: 1) the instructional model based on active learning concept consisted of (1) principles, (2) objectives, (3) 6 stages of instructional procedures including, stimulate social studies learning management, learn how to design social studies learning management, brainstorm the design of the social studies learning process, disclose the design of the social studies learning process, improve the design of the social studies learning process and evaluate of the design of the social studies learning process; and (4) conditions of model implementation. 2) The effectiveness of instructional model revealed that (1) students have more knowledge and understanding after studying, (2) students have ability of thinking, designing, and managing social studies learning management higher than the criterion 3.90%, (3) students have ability of writing social studies learning management plan higher than the criterion 1.37% and (4) students have satisfaction towards instructional model at the highest level.</p>
