•
The paper analyzes the regularities of propagation, attenuation, and decay of electromagnetic wave intensity in the atmosphere, which affect the operation of radar stations that ensure the safety of critical infrastructure.
First, we consider a typical solution to the electromagnetic wave equation. Then the energy parameters of an electromagnetic wave propagating in a vacuum are characterized. After that, we analyze the energy parameters of electromagnetic waves propagating in the surface layers of the atmosphere. Finally, a conclusion is drawn about the main regularities of propagation, attenuation, and decay of electromagnetic wave intensity in the atmosphere, which affect the operation of radar stations that ensure the safety of critical infrastructure facilities.
