| contents | <p><em><span>“Nedunalvadai” was composed by Nakkirar portraying the famous Pandyan King Nedunchezhiyan as the one who wears the Neem flowers. This book is one of the “Pattuppattu” Books. It has been written in 188 verses by the author. As the events take place during the Vadai period, it is a longing for the beloved (Thalaivi) who is separated from the leader and the war is won. It becomes a good source for the hero who is resting in the barracks after victory in the war. It is named “Nedunalvadai” as it means a long and good season for the hero and a nostalgic situation for the beloved. “Patupapatu” is the only collection considered as an expression of internal life. The theme is revolved around the place Koodirp Pasarai. (Victory Barracks) It also contains the story of the women worshipping the war Goddess Kotravai. Nedunalvadai is divided into three parts. The first part describes the effects of the Vadai (Cool) wind. The second part describes the suffering of the beloved who was separated from the hero. The last part describes the news about the hero in the pasarai (Barracks). Hence, the life history of the hero, beloved, maid and Adal women in this book are explained in the article.</span></em></p> |
