- <p>The Dictionary “Odvichni slova ukrayins'koyi kul'tury (Eternal Words of Ukrainian Culture” is a study driven by scientifically-educated needs to confirm the view to the history of literary language and its styles as phenomena that are closely connected with the history of culture, the philosophy of culture and the development of national consciousness.</p> <p>The lexicon is the result of com prehending the scientific, religious and artistic texts of the late 18lh-e arly 21st centuries literary language as fragments of linguistic culture of different time periods in the interdisciplinary dimension. The register of eternal words, which are basic concepts of Ukrainian culture, is structured to reflect their textual realization through the prism o f diachronic and synchronic approaches according to the historical variability and current state of linguistic consciousness, as well as trends in lexicographic practice.</p> <p>In the Dictionary there is offered the reception of communication not only as a dialogue (polylogue) with a specific addressee (s) but also as the internal dialogue and the dialogue between cultures. It is not only a tool of knowledge and a means of human communication (communication in its narrow sense). It became the cultural code of the nation, the basis of spiritual culture, an infinite repository of human experience. The content of the Dictionary is structured by conditionally defined time periods, each of them can be seen as a certain cultural stratum with its value system. This makes it possible to follow, on specific textual examples, a change in the axiological reception of the studied eternal words (basic concepts) of Ukrainian culture. The opportunity to form through systematic factual material the ideas about the worldviews of Ukrainians from ancient times to the perception of themselves, their lives, the world around (communication in a broad, discursive sense) opens up new frontiers for self-awareness and self-reflection.</p> <p>The term “eternal words” that is introduced in the lexicon is considered in close synonymic relations with other linguistic and culturally relevant units, in particular cultural co n cep ts, constants of culture.</p> <p>The dictionary is the author's linguistic and cultural reception of the basic concepts “being” in lexicographic and textual dimensions (vocabulary and textual implementation).</p> <p>The publication is designed for scholars, literary educators, humanity students and all who are interested in Ukrainian culture and spirituality.</p> <p> </p>
