A partial residual plot is a plot of ri + bk*ik vs. xik, where ri is the ordinary residual for the i-th observation, xik is the i-th observation of the k-th predictor and bk is the regression coefficient estimate for the k-th predictor. Regression lines indicate partial fits. Abbreviations: cont – continental islands, volc – volcanic islands.
