The leopard scan shows the anatomically correct orientation of the cervical vertebrae, especially the atlas wings in relation to skull and axis, and the correct distance between the bodies of cervical vertebrae when the intervertebral discs are still present. The M. aphanistus series is composed of skull plus cervicals C1–C2 from block B-2706, complemented with cervicals C3–C7 from block B-9002. Cervicals C3 to C5 are present in both blocks and they were used as a guide for reducing the B-9002 elements to the same scale as B-2706.
