(<i>Hyperolius</i> sp. 1 <i>sensu</i> Burger <i>et al.</i> 2004, <i>Hyperolius</i> sp. B Gabon <i>sensu</i> Veith <i>et al.</i> 2009); <i>H. zonatus</i> Laurent, 1958 (Burger <i>et al.</i> 2004, Veith <i>et al.</i> 2009, Portik <i>et al.</i> 2019; this study).</p><p>Area of occurrence: From south-eastern Sierra Leone in the West to south-western Cameroon in the East. Doudou Mts. in south-western Gabon and in the central Congo Basin south of the Congo River.</p><p>Other potential members: Perret (1966) suggested that <i>H. stenodactylus</i> Ahl, 1931 from southern Cameroon (type locality: Bipindi) potentially represents a synonym of ‘ <i>H. concolor</i> ’. Considering the geographical origin of <i>H. stenodactylus</i>, it may be a synonym of <i>H. guttatus</i>, but see Discussion.</p> |
