The ship track conditional categories are cloudy ship (ST1), clear ship (ST2), cloudy environment (ST3), and clear environment (ST4).

Chunk-averaged 3-D files were used to calculate buoyancy, temperure, water vapor, vorticity, and vertical velocity streamfunction plots. S12_CGILS_chunk_3D_MechDenialRuns.zip and SCT_chunk_3D_MechDenialRuns.zip contain the chunk-averaged 3-D files used to create buoyancy anomaly cross-sections and vertical velocity streamfunction contours. S12_CGILS_chunk_3D_Control.zip and SCT_chunk_3D_Control.zip contain all of the 3-D files used to make Hovmoller diagrams of temperature, moisture, and vorticity.

Analysis code to plot the X-Z cross-sections and hovmoller diagrams can be found in idl_analysis_code.zip (hovmoller_cgils.pro, hovmoller_sct.pro, plot_XZ_cross_sct.pro, plot_XZ_cross_cgils.pro). Analysis code to plot various time series and TKE scatterplots can be found in matlab_analysis_code.zip (decouple_grl_cgils.m, decouple_grl_sct.m, plot_domainavg_sct.m, plot_domainavg_cgils.m, cgils_timeseries, sct_timeseries, ship_frac.m, calc_boundary_layer_mean.m, calc_ent_rate.m, calc_cloud_layer_mean.m, calc_sc_layer_mean.m). grl_sct.mat and grl_cgils.mat include the data necessary to run matlab scripts without reading in data from the statistics files.
|
