These conflicts, often fueled by ethnic, political, and economic factors, have led to loss of lives, displacement, and economic decline. This study explores the impact of religious conflicts on Africa’s future and examines how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can support sustainable peace and development. AI technologies, including data analytics, machine learning, and predictive modeling, can help in early conflict detection, misinformation control, and promoting interfaith dialogue. The methodology of this study involves a qualitative approach, including content analysis of existing literature, case studies of religious conflicts in Africa, and expert interviews. By analyzing historical patterns and the role of AI in conflict resolution, the study provides insights into effective strategies for peacebuilding. The study recommends the integration of AI-driven solutions in peacebuilding initiatives, strengthening policies for interfaith harmony, and promoting education on religious tolerance. Governments, religious leaders, and international organizations should collaborate in leveraging AI for conflict prevention and resolution. By adopting technology-supported peace strategies, Africa can foster long-term stability and sustainable development.
