contents
The MAELSTROM project aims to test and evaluate innovative technologies for the removal of marine litter, also assessing their impact on the ecosystems in two selected demo sites: the Venice coastal area and the Porto region. In the demo site of Venice, the Automated Seabed Cleaning Platform has to be tested in two sites, one within the lagoon and one in the near coastal area, characterized by historically accumulated marine litter. The present report provides the identification of the demonstration sites in Venice based on data and information gathered during the implementation of WP2 for the assessment of ML pollution and state of the marine ecosystems, and the results of the installation and the pre-testing operation undertaken by TECNALIA, CNRS and ST at its facilities in Venice.
