contents
This paper explores the possibility of explaining gravitational redshift not through spacetime curvature, as in General Relativity (GR), but through variations in the speed of light in a gravitational field. A hypothesis is considered in which the speed of light depends on the gravitational potential, leading to a derived formula identical to the prediction of GR. An alternative explanation for gravitational lensing is proposed, as well as for effects traditionally attributed to dark matter and the expansion of the Universe. The study suggests that variations in the speed of light based on spatial energy density could provide new interpretations of well-known physical phenomena.
