| contents | <p><em><span>This study looks at how high school students' sociolinguistic proficiency might be evaluated through group discussions and debates. Using language appropriately in a variety of social circumstances while taking cultural norms, formality, and politeness into account is known as sociolinguistic competence. Students exhibit their capacity to modify language according to the social context by their involvement in group discussions and debates, providing insightful information about how language works in various contexts. The results demonstrate how well these interactive exercises assess students' sociolinguistic awareness and imply that include them in curricula can promote a more profound comprehension of language use that goes beyond grammatical correctness.</span></em></p> |
