-
Burn injuries are marked by a prolonged and intricate inflammatory response that can last for months, making it essential to understand and predict their dynamics to improve treatment strategies and outcomes. CompuCell3D has become an essential tool together with FiPy to model immune responses in the context of burn wound healing. We optimised the parallelization procedure for burn wound immune response simulations. Benchmark and parallelized simulation results provide critical insights into the performance of cc3d simulations for varying endothelial cell counts and processor configurations. We suggest a number of advanced strategies to tackle the challenges highlighted in this study.
