Among the risk factors are psychosocial factors such as stress, depression, and anxiety. Objective: This study aims to analyze psychotherapeutic theories and practices that can assist in the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) or their possible exacerbations. Method: This is a literature review of publications between 2014 and 2024 in the SciELO, Google Scholar, and EBSCO databases. Forty-nine studies were selected, of which 29 were excluded for not being compatible with the research. Results: From the reading of the selected publications, six categories were constructed: (1) main psychosocial factors triggering cardiovascular diseases, (2) public health, (3) role of psychological interventions, (4) psychological approaches, (5) psychocardiology, and (6) stress as a major risk factor. In this study, it was noted that publications from the first five years identified stress as one of the main risk factors in the cardiac patient, while the most recent ones highlight the individual's psychosocial factors. Conclusion: Field studies in health units are recommended, adopting a multidisciplinary approach that emphasizes the importance of psychological interventions in promoting lifestyle changes, aiming to prevent CVDs and improve treatment adherence.
|
