- <p>Based on the isoseismal maps of 34 historical and recent earthquakes ocurred in the Colombian territory, its macroseismic focal depth are estimated using the Blake-Shebalin and Kovesligethy models. The obteined results and calculated errors show that the Blake-Shebalín algorithm has a good behavior to determine the depth of superficial earthquakes, while the Koveligethy algorithm works better for intermediate and deep earthquakes. In some cases the evaluated macroseismic depht is similar to the instrumental depth.</p>
