- <p>The digestive system is essential for nutrient absorption, immune function, and overall health. However, many diseases and conditions—ranging from inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) to gastric ulcers and post-surgical complications—can severely impact its function. Current treatments often focus on symptom management rather than true healing, and for severe cases, invasive surgeries such as colectomies or gastric resections are required.</p> <p>CRISPR technology presents a groundbreaking opportunity to regenerate damaged tissues, correct genetic predispositions to digestive diseases, and restore full functionality to the stomach, intestines, and other digestive organs. This research project outlines a strategy for developing CRISPR-based therapies to heal and regenerate the digestive system at a genetic level.</p>
