- <p><em><span>Urbanization is a major demographic trend of the 21st century, with over half of the global population now residing in cities. While cities offer economic opportunities and improved infrastructure, they also present challenges to biodiversity. The rapid growth of urban areas and changes to landscapes and ecosystems threaten biodiversity through habitat loss, fragmentation, and pollution. This paper examines biodiversity conservation strategies in urban areas to address these challenges. We explore existing literature, case studies, and innovative practices in urban biodiversity conservation, focusing on green infrastructure, community engagement, policy frameworks, and ecosystem services. The research highlights the importance of integrating biodiversity into urban planning and management for sustainable urban ecosystems</span></em></p>
