contents <p>In August 2023, a series of interviews were conducted at the Chitongo Dam, located in the Namwala District of the Southern Province of Zambia.</p> <p>The inhabitants who participated in the interviews were informed about the use of the collected data and consented to be interviewed. We would like to express our gratitude to World-Vision Zambia for their invaluable support in the organisation of the survey, as well as for their involvement in the recruitment of local translators.</p> <p>The interviews addressed water consumption in relation to household domestic consumption, livestock, and subsistence farming. Given the absence of measuring instruments among the majority of the participants, the interviewees were requested to report the volume of water consumed in litres by means of the containers they were familiar with (e.g. a basket).</p>
