contents
This paper presents an integrated renewable energy system where solar and wind power sources are connected to a medium voltage grid to support electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and DC loads. The system employs a three-level (TL) DC-DC converter for EV charging and energy storage, ensuring optimal voltage conversion and power transfer between the renewable sources, grid, and loads. Additionally, a bidirectional AC-DC neutral point clamped (NPC) converter enhances power flow control, enabling grid-to-vehicle (G2V) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) operations while also supporting DC loads. To ensure system stability, an adaptive controller is implemented, dynamically adjusting to fluctuations in solar and wind power generation, load variations, and grid disturbances. This control strategy enhances power quality, system reliability, and overall efficiency. The three-level DC-DC converter not only facilitates fast EV charging but also optimizes energy storage management, ensuring a balanced power flow within the system. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed system in maintaining stable power delivery, reducing Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), and improving grid stability under varying operating conditions.
