  • <p>This dataset accompanies the paper "Can we tell where our bodies end and the world begins? Evidence for precise three-dimensional internal body models", by Celia R Blaise, Holly C Clark, and Hannes P Saal.</p> <p>All scanned 3D models are contained within '3D models.zip' in PLY format. The corresponding CSV files contain the 3D location of all touch points, the location of midpoints between all pairs, as well as their distance from the surface. Data is split by experiment.</p> <p>Psychophysical judgements (along with corresponding midpoint distances) for all experiments (in separate sheets) is contained in 'Psychophysics.xlsx'.</p> <p>3D models, midpoints, and distances to the skin surface can be visualised using 'vis3Dpaper.py', requiring the pyvista Python library, along with numpy and pandas. The first argument refers to the PLY file, the second argument to the corresponding CSV file, and the (optional) third argument to the touch point pair to be shown. For example 'python vis3Dpaper.py Part1_Hand.ply Part1_Hand.csv AB' shows the midpoint and surface distance for the line connecting points A and B for the respective 3D model.</p> <p>Psychometric functions can be fit using 'fit_psychometric_functions.m' requiring the <em>psignifit</em> toolbox for Matlab, using 'Psychophysics.xlsx' as input.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
