- <p>Over the past two decades, autonomous drones have significantly evolved, becoming crucial tools in sectors like healthcare, agriculture, logistics, and disaster response. Despite their proven benefits, their adoption in developing economies faces barriers such as inadequate infrastructure, inconsistent regulations, economic limitations, and public skepticism. This paper examines these challenges and emphasizes the opportunities drones present in overcoming logistical hurdles, driving economic empowerment, and supporting sustainable development. Through case studies from Rwanda, India, Kenya, and Ghana, the study illustrates successful drone applications and provides actionable recommendations, including localized regulatory frameworks, international collaboration, and community engagement, to enable developing economies to fully leverage drone technology for economic and social advancement.</p>
