contents
The article discusses the use of cultivated arable lands in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the methods for eliminating the ecological problems arising from this use. It is shown that flat and low mountainous areas, where human settlement is dense, have been used for agriculture for a long time. As a result of improper agricultural activities, these lands have undergone degradation, irrigation erosion, salinization, desertification, and pollution by industrial and domestic waste. Finally, measures are suggested to eliminate the ecological problems arising in cultivated lands, including preventing irrigation erosion, prioritizing irrigation with furrows, transitioning to closed irrigation systems, expanding the drainage collector network, and implementing agro-technical measures to maintain soil fertility and productivity.
