| contents | <p>Workplace safety continues to be a top concern across all industries. This has led organisations to<br>implement a variety of safety interventions. Of these, behavioural safety interventions - which aim to<br>modify employee behaviour through training, observation and providing feedback - have received<br>considerable attention. This paper assesses the impact of behavioural safety intervention on workplace<br>accident incidence rates. Using a mixed methods research design, the study combines quantitative data<br>(survey findings, accident statistics, and regression analyses) and qualitative findings (interviews, case<br>studies, and observed data) to assess the impact of these behavioural safety interventions. The findings<br>indicate that organisations that implement comprehensive behavioural safety programs experience<br>significant reductions in accident rates, improved safety performance, and increased employee<br>involvement. The paper highlights the critical role of management, the importance of tailoring to specific<br>industry environments, and the inclusion of new technologies in reinforcing safe behaviours. Implications<br>for practitioners, policy advice and directions for future research are offered. This study makes a<br>contribution to the safety at work field by providing robust and empirical support for the value of<br>behavioural safety interventions in reducing workplace accidents. </p> |
