The birds breed in the about 600 nest boxes installed in the study area, which covers about 64 km2 along the Rhône between Martigny and Sierre and has been running at its current size since 2002. (<a title="2010" href="https://academic.oup.com/bioscience/article/60/10/835/231658">https://academic.oup.com/bioscience/article/60/10/835/231658)</a> or Plard et al. (<a title="2020" href="https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/ece3.6244">https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/ece3.6244</a>).</p> <h2>Data Curation</h2> <p>The raw geolocator data have been stored on internal server at the Swiss Ornithological Instute and the technical team including a table with metadata on geolocator (device model, settings etc..)</p> <p>Using <a href="https://raphaelnussbaumer.com/GeoLocatoR/">GeoLocatoR</a>, we combined (1) the raw geolocator data, (2) the information on the internal server of the vogelwarte and (3) the ringing data of the hoopoe to create this GeoLocator Data Package. During this process we followed the instruction on the <a href="https://raphaelnussbaumer.com/GeoPressureManual/geolocator-create.html">GeoPressureManual</a> using the <a href="https://github.com/Rafnuss/GeoPressureTemplate">GeoPressureTemplate</a> Rafnuss/SwissHoopoe.</p> <h2>Data Analysis</h2> <p>The creation of the track was performed using GeoPressureR package. The code and parameters used in the model can be found at <a href="https://github.com/Rafnuss/SwissHoopoe">Rafnuss/SwissHoopoe.</a> </p>
