Farm ponds have emerged as a crucial water conservation strategy to improve irrigation facilities and enhance crop yields, especially for small and marginal farmers. This research paper analyzes the impact of farm ponds on crop yield across different blocks of Solapur District from 2019 to 2024. Using block-wise data, this study evaluates the variations in crop production, shifts in cropping patterns, and the economic benefits of farm pond adoption. The findings indicate that farm ponds have contributed to a 20-45% increase in crop yield in various blocks, enabling farmers to cultivate multiple crops and sustain their livelihoods. However, challenges such as high evaporation rates, siltation, and financial constraints continue to limit their widespread adoption. The study concludes with policy recommendations to enhance the sustainability of farm ponds and improve water resource management in Solapur District.
