- <p>Historically, foreign aid has been crucial in dictating economic and social development within African countries. However, some recent geopolitical circumstances have led to a drastic cutoff or diversion of aid by world superpowers such as the United States, United Kingdom, and European Union. This essay analyzes the economic impact of such aid withdrawal on African economies, focusing on hardest-hit areas like health, infrastructure, education, and governance. It argues that while reliance on aid has had its drawbacks, sudden withdrawal without long-term transition planning risks undoing development gains and eroding macroeconomic gains.</p>
