Conventional disease management heavily depends on toxic pesticides that pose risks to both human health and the environment. Nanotechnology offers promising alternatives by enhancing pesticide effectiveness while reducing toxicity and environmental impact. Engineered nanoparticles (NPs) are increasingly used as nano-fertilizers and antimicrobial agents, including antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial applications. One of the most promising innovations is nano-encapsulation, which allows for the controlled release of pesticides, improving their efficiency, reducing volatilization, and minimizing environmental contamination. These nano-encapsulated agrochemicals can be designed for targeted delivery and timed release, increasing precision in disease management. Additionally, NPs are being developed as biosensors for detecting plant diseases and delivering genetic material and agrichemicals. Microorganisms and plants play key roles in the synthesis and activity of nanoparticles, making microbe-mediated NPs an eco-friendly and cost-effective strategy. This approach offers great potential in enhancing disease resistance in crops and reducing the challenges to food security. The application of nanoparticles could revolutionize agriculture, and future research in nano-bioengineering and precision agriculture aims to create stress-resilient crops, paving the way toward sustainable farming and improved global food security.

Keywords: Metallic Nanoparticles, nano-sensors, nano-pesticides, nano-herbicides, plant pathogens, resistance.
